Homemade Dark chocolate chilli, coffee, and Sumac wood ear sweets 😋A Nicole recipe, love when a flighting thought comes to fruition.Certainly not my first time to use wood ears - Auricularia auricula-judae to make sweets. However, this was a new recipe, and Boy did it work!We found a wood ear factory on a branch, I took it home and firstly plucked the wood ears from their branch.A clean with a brush and popped into boiling water for a few minutes. Cut them into bite sizes.I then made very strong coffee and poured it over my wood ears in a dish. Let marinade overnight. The following day, I heated some Lindt lindor dark chocolate and chilli bar, with a little cooking chocolate in a glass bowl over a pot of boiling water.Set the marinated ears on kitchen paper and then dipped them into the warm chocolate. Placed each dipped ear onto baking paper with a cocktail stick. Then sprinkled them with some Sumac that I had gathered and dried.Let set in the fridge on the paper for an hour or so. I placed the sweets on a clean serviette in a wooden dish to serve. We enjoyed these for our dessert after our foraging walk and mushroom workshop at the School of Fish last weekend.Everyone loved them ❤️#jellyears #woodears #sweets #chocolate
